As a Unfranchise Owner, FB & Twitter has increased my exposure to the masses. This is the new wave of commuication. I use it daily to connect with friends, family & colleagues. Unfortunately some are using it like email.

Google Wave (http://wave.google.com/) is a great example of how social media interaction will be changing over the next 12 months. Twitter, AIM, Email... these are all stepping stones to the next evolution of communication and interactivity. I think Google Wave might be that next big step.

Dave, I love this posting.

Yes, I would agree, using one's iPhone or Blackberry have definitely given all of us something to do. Whether it is using LinkedIn, Facebook or Twitter when you're out at the beach, using Social Networks does keep you connected both professionally and personally. I myself as a marketer, wife, daughter and friend am always staying in touch.

Regarding how social networks will evolve...well, I have a theory. I think social networks will splinter into lifestyle and psychographic interests, just like how Cable TV has evolved.
Thanks for sharing and I look forward to meeting you at Licensing Show.

It is quite true about using Twitter as a source of information. I also enjoy learning new things, and using Twitter is a fun and interesting way to learn and build relationships at the same time.
